Remove obstacles
Take down pictures and carefully remove socket and switch covers after isolating the electricity where required. Remove loose wallpaper and protruding fixings.
A beautiful result starts with a smooth wall, an accurate vertical guide and patient panel alignment. Read the full process before opening or installing your mural.
These are general installation instructions. Always follow any material-specific directions included with your order. If a product arrives damaged, incorrect or defective, stop and contact us before installation.
Take down pictures and carefully remove socket and switch covers after isolating the electricity where required. Remove loose wallpaper and protruding fixings.
Fill holes and cracks, sand smooth and remove dust, grease or residue. The surface must be clean, dry, stable and even. Do not apply wallpaper to textured, glossy, untreated or unpainted surfaces.
Do not install on fresh or uncured paint. Printseekers recommends allowing newly painted walls to cure for 2–7 days; follow the paint manufacturer if it requires longer.
Lay every panel flat, check that none are missing or damaged and verify the complete mural before installing. Follow the numbered sequence and supplied layout, then mark a true vertical guide using a level or plumb line.
Peel back only a small section of the backing at the top. Align the panel with the vertical guide, leaving the planned trimming allowance at the ceiling.
Remove the backing roughly one-third at a time while smoothing from the centre towards the edges. Do not pull or stretch the material.
Match the design carefully and place panels edge to edge without overlap. The adhesive allows careful repositioning during initial installation, so check alignment from top to bottom before pressing firmly.
Remove remaining air pockets with gentle outward strokes. Use a sharp blade and straightedge to trim at the ceiling, floor and openings.
Use a wallpaper adhesive suitable for non-woven paper. Apply it evenly to the wall or paper as directed by the adhesive and the instructions included with your order. Avoid dry patches and excessive build-up.
Align it with the vertical guide and allow a small excess at the ceiling and floor. Smooth gently from the centre outwards.
Prepare the next section, align the artwork and bring each seam together edge to edge. Printseekers panels are designed without overlap.
Remove excess paste immediately with a clean damp sponge—do not rub. Trim with a fresh blade and check every seam before the paste dries.
Do not begin if panels are missing, damaged, misprinted or in the wrong sequence. Photograph the entire mural and the affected area, keep the packaging and contact PosterPeak. Starting with an incorrect panel or continuing after discovering a defect can prevent a reliable assessment.
Use the layout supplied with your mural. The first panel must follow a perfectly vertical guide; do not rely on a corner being straight.
Follow the instructions supplied with the material. In most cases panels are aligned edge to edge, but never assume—check before installing.
Prepare a smooth wall, keep the first panel vertical, align the pattern without stretching and avoid forcing the edges together.
Stop immediately, keep all panels and packaging, photograph the issue and contact us. Continuing may make the problem harder to assess.
